We stand with victims of Kebbi school attack — Senator Oluremi Tinubu

The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on Tuesday, condemned the attack on Government Girls’ Comprehensive Senior Secondary School, GGCSS, in Maga, Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State, where bandits abducted 25 students and killed the school’s vice principal, Malami Hassan Yakubu Makuku.

During a visit by the Wives of Service Chiefs to the State House, Abuja, Tinubu requested a minute of silence to honour the late Vice Principal and the victims of the Kebbi attack.

The visiting group included Mrs. Sefiyan Shuaibu, Mrs. Ngozi Aneke, Mrs. Aishatu Abass, and Mrs. Elizabeth Egbetokun, representing the Army, Air Force, Navy, and Police Officers’ Wives Associations, respectively.

The First Lady praised the new service chiefs for their efforts to ensure national security and commended their spouses for supporting them while contributing to community welfare across the country. She urged the service chiefs’ wives to collaborate with her office, recalling her positive working relationship with former Service Chiefs’ spouses and their initiatives supporting widows and veterans.

Acknowledging the challenges faced by security personnel in Kebbi, Tinubu emphasised the importance of protecting lives and lauded the officers for their commitment despite personal risks.

She also commiserated with the families of the victims and prayed for the safe return of the abducted students.
