Sowore visits Sheikh Abduljabbar in Kuje prison

Nigerian activist and politician, Omoyele Sowore, has visited Sheikh Abduljabbar Nasiru Kabara at Kuje Prison in Abuja.

Sowore announced the visit on his Facebook page, where he shared photos and explained that he went to see the cleric alongside Barrister Hamza Nuhu Dantani.

He recalled that Sheikh Abduljabbar was sentenced to death in Kano under the administration of former governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje after he was accused of blasphemy, an issue Sowore described as politically motivated.

The activist said he was surprised to learn how “people close to the cleric worked together to ensure he ended up in prison.”

According to Sowore, they met the sheikh in high spirits.

“He told us that God is protecting him and that he will continue to uphold his teachings until the end of his life.”

Sowore added that no one deserves injustice, insisting that justice must be served for Abduljabbar and calling for an end to what he described as the misuse of religion by corrupt politicians.
